Maimonides School, a PreSchool - Grade12 Orthodox Jewish day school in Brookline, MA, is seeking an experienced candidate for a full-time Upper School teaching position in History beginning in the 2024-25 academic year.

The successful candidate will:
● Develop strong relationships with students as the foundation for strong learning.
● Emphasize students doing the intellectual work through a focus on skill development in historical thinking, conceptual analysis, close reading, and historiography.
● Uses student-centered teaching methods that are supported by research as highly effective for learning, and that allow expression of student agency.
● Be growth oriented: open to feedback, continually working on teaching practice, using formative assessment and other forms of data collection to inform instruction.
● Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisor.
● Focus on student learning and the student learning experience.
● Differentiate instruction for a variety of students, collaborating with the Learning Center when appropriate.

Experience Required:
● Minimum of Master’s degree in History or related field
● 5 years teaching experience
● Ability to teach courses in grades 9-12, including U.S. History, AP U.S. History, and (preferably) AP World History
● Preference given to candidates with an interest in collaborating with colleagues in humanities across our academic program.
